At the rustic Balule Private Camp no electricity is available but paraffin lamps are provided. Here you can enjoy a real close-to-nature experience. As a low fence is the only barrier to separate you from the wilderness, it is possible at any time to see wild animals close to the camp. The independent camper will really enjoy this unique and authentic wilderness feeling.
Balule Camp, being one of the smaller Kruger Park camps, comprises different types of accommodation to suite every guest's taste. Caravan/ tent camping sites are set under large Mahogany, Sausage and Baobab Trees to provide cooling shade. A shop, restaurant and fuel station are available in Olifants Camp which is about 11km (6.8 miles) from Balule Private Camp.

Accommodation:
Balule Private Camp is a small, rustic accommodation in the heart of Kruger National Park. As no electricity is provided at Balule Camp, paraffin lamps create a romantic atmosphere at night.
There are no shop or restaurant facilities available at the camp but a shop, restaurant and fuel station can be found at Olifants Camp about 11km (6.8 miles) to the north. Balule Camp is divided into 2 kinds of accommodation: a camping site for caravans/ tents and rustic huts.
Camping Site:
There are 15 sites for caravans and tents available without power points, as no electricity is provided at the camp.
Hut:
Balule Camp comprises of 6 rustic huts with 3 beds each and communal ablution facilities. Each hut provides linen, towels and a ceiling-fan. Please note that the huts have no window, only vents. The communal kitchen does not provide any cooking utensils as well as crockery or cutlery. A scullery, gas stoves and limited space in the communal freezer is available.

Location:
Balule Private Camp is located in the centre of Kruger National Park. Featuring the most exquisite topography, the camp is one of the best places of the Kruger Park camps to experience nature close up. Balule is also close to the southern banks of the strong Olifants River.
How to get there:
Departing Johannesburg and Pretoria: Take the N1 toll-road to Polokwane (Pietersburg). 40 km before Polokwane turn right onto the R71 and head for Tzaneen. After Tzaneen head towards Phalaborwa and the Phalaborwa Gate. Allow between 6 to 7 hours for the trip to the gate. Balule Satellite Camp is 85 km away from the gate. Allow about 3 hours for the drive to the camp; however if you want to enjoy the game viewing possibilities give yourself more time!

Activities:
Balule Private Camp in Kruger National Park does not only offer spectacular game viewing opportunities but interesting excursions to surrounding sites. Visit the N'wamanzi and Olifants Lookout, Engelhard Dam, Balule Bridge or even Ngotso Pan and Baoab Tree on the way to Letaba.
Chairs and tables are available at the camp to sit down and relax wherever you feel comfortable. Cooking and braai (barbeque) facilities offer you the opportunity to prepare a delicious, self-catered dinner under the African night sky.
Game:
Experienced and qualified safari guides conduct bush walks to track Rhino, Lion and Elephant in the Kruger National Park. Night drives as well as morning drives to spot the large cats are also available. On nocturnal safari activities you can see wild animals in their nocturnal environment and watch their activities. In this area you can find Kudu, Giraffe, Buffalo, Roan Antelope, Crocodiles and Elephants coming to the rivers, pools and waterholes to drink.
