Skukuza Camp is the capital of Kruger National Park and is the size of a small town. It can sleep up to 1000 visitors in bungalows, rondavels, cottages and guesthouses. Skukuza has a curio shop, restaurant, fuel station, library and a golf course.

Skukuza Restcamp's facilities include a laundromat, cafeteria, shop, post office, ATM, fuel station, car wash, garage with workshop, basic first aid, 3 swimming pools, auditorium and conference facilities.
Skukuza Rest camp in Kruger Park also has a and several attractions such as a 9-hole golf course, museum hut, the Stevenson-Hamilton Memorial Library and an information centre.
Child Policy: Children of all ages are welcome at Skukuza as there are numerous family friendly accommodations available. However, children under the age of 6 years are not allowed on game drives and children under the age of 12 are not allowed on morning game walks. A seasonal Kids Educational Programme is also available.

Accommodation:
Bungalow Accommodation
Air-conditioned bungalows with thatch have 2 or 3 single beds and bedding is supplied. The bathroom consists of a shower, hand basin and w/c. Some of the units have their own kitchenettes on the veranda, while other units share communal kitchen facilities. All bungalows at this Kruger Park lodging have a bar-size fridge.
Luxury Riverside Bungalow Accommodation
These luxury bungalows are situated along the river frontage and have a more modern design. Still only one roomed, with en-suite bathroom, these units have large glass sliding doors providing excellent views of the river and its wildlife. The units each have a double bed, air-conditioning and limited satellite television.
Guest/Family Cottage Accommodation
Guest/family cottages have 2 to 3 air-conditioned bedrooms. Some cottages have one bedroom with a double bed, while the other bedrooms have 2 single beds. The units have either one to 2 bathrooms with a bath, washbasin, separate shower and toilet. The cottages have an open-plan kitchen.
Guest House Accommodation
Skukuza has 4 luxury guest houses which offer cater for up to 12 persons. The units have 3 to 4 air-conditioned bedrooms, each with 2 single beds/or double beds and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, washbasin, separate shower and toilet. The recreation area consists of a dining room, lounge, kitchen and veranda with barbeque/braai facilities.
Safari Tent Accommodation
Skukuza has 20 safari tents for the budget traveller. The tents are built on wooden stilts and consist of one room with either 2 or 4 single beds - bedding is supplied. Guests have to make use of the communal ablution and kitchen facilities.
Camping Sites
A maximum of 6 persons, one caravan with a side tent and one vehicle, or one tent and one vehicle, or one autovilla, or one motorised caravan will be permitted per site. Guests can make use of the communal kitchen (cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery are not provided) and ablution facilities.
Disabled-friendly Accommodation
Skukuza Restcamp in Kruger National Park, South Africa, also offers accommodation for disabled guests. There are 6 wheelchair-friendly bungalows with shower and two with bath available, which can be accesses from the paved parking via a small ramp or firm ground. There is also one disabled-friendly guest cottage with enough space in the bathroom.

Location:
Skukuza is located in the south of Kruger National Park and the perennial Sabie River flows past it. The closest entrance gate to Skukuza Camp is at the Paul Kruger Gate, just 12km (7.4 miles) west of Skukuza. Johannesburg is about a 5 hours drive from the Paul Kruger Gate. The Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport is less than an hour's drive from the Paul Kruger Gate.
How to get there from Johannesburg/Pretoria
By air: A flight from O.R. Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg) to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) near Kruger Park. There are daily flights between the 2 airports and bus shuttles between KMIA and Skukuza Camp or car hire from both the airport and the camp.
By road: The N12 from Johannesburg and the N4 from Pretoria take you on a 5-hour drive through Nelspruit to Skukuza. Paul Kruger Gate and Phabeni Gate are the 2 options for travel to Skukuza in Kruger National Park. The speed limit within the park is 50 km/h on tarred roads, 40 km/h on gravel roads and 20 km/h in restcamps.

Activities:
Take part in game drives and game walks on your Kruger Park safari at Skukuza rest camp. Birdwatching in Kruger is also very rewarding. The Big Five can often be seen in the vicinity of Skukuza.
Warthog and vervet monkeys inhabit the camp and can wreak havoc if visitors leave their possessions unguarded. At night, genet, thick-tailed Bush Baby and Fruit Bats can be seen in camp. Skukuza's riverfront is a great place to look for Hippopotamus and Buffalo, especially in the early morning.
