Roodewal Bush Lodge is a secluded, private lodge situated 44 kilometres 27.3 miles) north of Satara, on the banks of the Timbavati River. This unique Kruger Park accommodation boasts individual sleeping units, ideal for wonderful celebrations in the bush.
Roodewal Bush Lodge is located close to the beautiful Timbavati River, an exceptional game viewing venue. Roodewal boasts a lookout platform constructed around an immense nyala tree which is suspended over the Timbavati. While staying at Roodewal, guests can enjoy exciting morning game drives, night game drives to view the nocturnal creatures of Kruger Park, and guided bush walks.

Accommodation:
Roodewal Bush Lodge offers Kruger Park accommodation for 19 guests. At Roodewal Bush Lodge, it is compulsory to book the entire camp en bloc, therefore, no day visitors are allowed at the camp. Accommodation is in a single family cottage with 2 bedrooms and 3 bungalows with 3 beds each.
The family cottage boasts an ensuite bathroom, and the bungalow has a loft with 2 mattresses, a bathroom with shower, toilet and wash basin, and a small fridge. Solar panels provide power for light and fans.
The living area at Roodewal is fully equipped with a spacious dining room and kitchen with gas stove and oven, a fridge and freezer, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. Please note that there are no shopping facilities, restaurants or filling stations in the vicinity, but these facilities are available at Olifants and Satara Rest Camps.

Roodewal Bush Lodge is located on the gravel Timbavati Road, close to the beautiful seasonal Timbavati River. This location offers exceptional game viewing opportunities in Kruger National Park, South Africa.
This lodge is located approximately 40 kilometres (24.8 miles) from Olifants Rest camp and 50 kilometres (31 miles) from Satara Rest Camp. Eastgate Airport in Hoedspruit is about 68 kilometres (42.2 miles) from Orpen Gate.
How to get there:
Directions from Johannesburg/Pretoria:
Travel towards Nelspruit along the N4 then take the R540 Belfast turn off. Turn left onto the R36 at Lyndenburg, heading north. Thirty kilometres (18.6 miles) before Hoedspruit, turn right onto the R531 and continue towards the gate. Roodewal Bush Lodge is about 75 kilometres (47 miles) from the gate. Please allow 3 hours for this journey to the camp.

Activities that can be arranged include morning game drives, night game drives and exciting guided bush walks. Your morning and night game drives affords the possibility of viewing Lion, Cheetah, Hyena, Steenbok, Elephant, Wildebeest, Kudu, Giraffe, Waterbuck, Zebra and Ostrich.
Guided bush walks are for the most adventurous and offer a chance to experience the smaller, often overlooked aspects of the Park, including animal spoors, insects and plant life.
