Malelane Private Camp is one of the smallest camps but provides an ideal African escape offering privacy and seclusion. A maximum of 19 guests can be accommodated and lodged in several caravan and camping sites. Day visitors are not allowed at Malelane Private Camp so that guests of the camp can enjoy an exclusive and private stay. Each caravan/ camping site offers a different variety of attractions and facilities.
The rising morning sun paints the African landscape around Malelane Camp in golden shine and the bush awakens suddenly. It is recommended that you bring cameras and binoculars for your camping in Kruger National Park. As the weather may change within minutes, guests are advised to wear a weatherproof jacket and cap. Bush walks are always accompanied by accredited and armed field guides.

Accommodation:
Kruger Park lodging at Malelane Private Camp comprises campsites as well as bungalows. Each campsite can sleep a maximum of 6 guests. As Malelane Private Camp is a very small camp, it provides a more intimate bush experience. This camp is the only one to be placed on a boundary, the southern border of Kruger Park.
Campsite: Malelane Private Camp's campsites comprise 15 tent or caravan sites with power point which can sleep a maximum of 6 guests each. Facilities include communal ablutions and cooking equipment.
Bungalow: Each semi-luxurious bungalow consists of 5 rooms having 3 or 4 single beds or 2 double beds. The bungalows are equipped with ablutions and shower, air-conditioning, communal kitchen and fridge. Crockery and cutlery is available in the communal diningroom of your Kruger Park lodging option.
The communal kitchen is equipped with oven, gas stove, freezer and fridge, sink and cooking utensils. Braai (barbeque) facilities and open parking are also available. The nearest shop is about 9km (5.5 miles) away at Berg-en-Dal Restcamp, which also has a popular internet cafe.

Location:
Malelane Private Camp is situated on the Berg-en-Dal Road close to Malelane Gate. Here, only the mighty Crocodile River separates rolling fields of sugar cane from the neighbouring farms and majestic savannah.
Malelane Private Camp is located close to a variety of other Kruger National Park camps such as Lower Sabie (105km, 65.2 miles), Skukuza (64km, 39.8 miles), Biyamiti Bushveld Camp (39km, 24.2 miles) and Berg-en-Dal (12km, 7.5 miles).
How to get there
Departing from Johannesburg and Pretoria: Take the N4 to Nelspruit, head through Nelspruit to Malelane. Then turn left at the Kruger National Park sign just outside Malelane and head to the gate. Allow between 4 to 5 hours for the trip to the gate. Malelane Satellite Camp is approximately 5 km away from the gate. Allow about 10 minutes for the drive to the camp, however if you want to enjoy the game viewing possibilities give yourself more time!

Activities:
Morning drives are especially exciting in the area surrounding the Malelane Private Camp in Kruger National Park. On night game drives you are introduced to elusive nocturnal animals. Guided bushwalks accompanied by qualified and experienced rangers. Identify and interpret the distinctive animal features, analyse spoor prints and drops as well as the vegetation en route.
Game: The area around Malelane Private Camp hosts a wide range of wild species such as Kudu, White Rhino, Elephant, Giraffe and Klipspringer. Leopard are seen frequently in the region and some even see them drink at the dam next to the camp. Wild Dog and Grey Rhebok are also found in this area. To spot Lion, you should go in the lower plains on the roads to Crocodile Bridge and Skukuza.
Birding: Malelane Private Camp is also an excellent bird watching venue. Bird enthusiasts can see the Grey Tit-flycatcher (Fan-tailed Flycatcher), White-throated Robin-chats and White-browed (Heuglin's). Even the Scarlet-chested Sunbird is particularly distinctive. Water birds and African Fish Eagle are especially attracted by the Matjulu Dam close to the Kruger Park lodging. A variety of bird species live in the surrounding hills including Pennat-winged Nightjar and Croaling Cisticola.

To spot Lion, you should go in the lower plains on the roads to Crocodile Bridge and Skukuza.
