Olifants Camp is situated on top of a hill, overlooking the life giving waters of the Olifants River in the Kruger National Park, South Africa. You enter Olifants through the Phalaborwa Gate, a 5 hour drive from Johannesburg. By air, you travel with regular domestic flights from Johannesburg to Phalaborwa Kruger Park Gateway Airport.
This area offers a diverse range of vegetation including Apple Leaf, Tamboti, Mopane, Marula and Mixed Acacias. Due to this vast range of flora, much wildlife is known to inhabit this lush area.
From Johannesburg/Gauteng, follow the N4 to Nelspruit. From Nelspruit, take the R40 north to Hazyview, Bushbuck Ridge and heading to Klaserie, then onward to Hoedspruit. Follow the R40 on to Mica, following the road as it splits to the right to the Phalaborwa Gate.
At Phalaborwa Gate, travel on the H-9 road for 51 kilometres (31 miles) until you reach the T-junction. On the T-junction, turn right traveling on the H-1-5 road for 24 kilometres (15 miles). Upon reaching the Nwamanzi Viewpoint, stick to the left on the H8 road for 9 kilometres (6 miles) until you reach Olifants Camp.
