The surrounding area of Orpen Camp offers excellent game viewing opportunities. Your game viewing adventure starts on the drive from Orpen to Satara, where herds of Zebra and Wildebeest can be seen grazing on the side of the road. Giraffe, Impala, Warthog and Elephant are also likely sightings. Turn off this road to the Timbavati River northwards to Olifants Camp, where 3 of the famous big cats can be seen - Lion, Cheetah and Leopard.
Game drives and night drives afford the opportunity to view game at close range from the comfort of 4X4 safari vehicles. For the more adventurous, game walks offers the thrilling experience of walking through the bush with an armed guide leading the way. You will learn more about the wonders of the bush, as well as the smaller aspects of the Park, including spoors, insects and flora.
